Job Fair in Chennai

The concept of the Job Fair was pioneered in India by, India’s No. 1 job site and the Jumbo Job Fair, at MRC Centre Santhome, Chennai as always, witnessed an over-whelming response from job seekers and companies from across the country. The two-day fair held on 5 – 6 April ‘08, witnessed 7,400 candidates walk in to seek better paying jobs with over 22 companies participating at the fair.

Participating companies spanned across industries such as IT, ITeS, Banking, Insurance, Education & Training.

Commenting on the Chennai Jumbo Job Fair, Mr. Richard Andrew, Business Manager, Team Healthcare, said, “The biggest advantage that we got as a participant in the Jumbo Fair was branding. This event helped us in building awareness and employment branding. is a synonym for quality and the same was true of the quality of candidates that walked in at the Jumbo Job fair.”

An enthused, Mr. V. Srinivasan, Sr. Recruiter, Perot System, added, “Our experience with Jumbo Job Fair at Chennai was good. We saw over 730 candidates walk- in to our stall on the two days at the job fair. We got a lot of market exposure, which was a big benefit. The event was well planned and arranged by the team and the representatives were very corporative.”

The companies that partnered with in this Jumbo Job Fair, included reputed names like Ford Business Services Centre, AIG Systems, IBM, Club Mahindra, Volex,, DSRC, HOV Services, Ajuba, Sutherland, Cholamandalam MS, Perot Systems,, Aldea, Max, Newyork, Team Health care, Y-Axis, Doli Systems, Nittany, NIIT, ICICI home loans and CMS amongst others.

    With such major companies in attendance at this JobFair, I am sure the turnout of people was huge. A job fair is always a great venue for getting your resume some attention and also to make you aware of what opportunities are available to you.
